NoteThis course is now taught as two courses
From 2026 the SISMID course runs as two standalone courses across the week:
- Nowcasting (first half of the week) — epidemiological delays, their biases, the renewal equation and \(R_t\), and nowcasting.
- Forecasting & evaluation (second half of the week) — forecasting models, forecast evaluation, ensembles, and collaborative hubs.
The original combined materials remain available as an archive: see the v1.0.0 release and the sessions linked in the sidebar.
A course and living resource for learning about nowcasting and forecasting infectious disease dynamics, originally developed by the nfidd team and adapted for SISMID.
We invite anyone to use the materials here in their own teaching and learning. For questions and discussion of the course or its content, we welcome all users to the Discussion board. We welcome all forms of contributions, additions and suggestions for improving the materials.
